Property Strategy Update

Unite reps (along with PCS and Your Forum reps) were briefed about a proposal to move all employees to the 2nd floor in MAN33 as a cost saving measure given there is reduced footfall on the site and a ‘break’ in the lease would currently allow this change.

Unite and the other reps raised some initial questions and concerns about the proposal and its impact. It is understood that Paul Brown told Your Forum of plans to make changes to office provision in Manchester last August, but that was confidential until now. We have no dates or timescales yet, or detailed information about the current footfall in the buildings, or a floorplan with information about how many desks or meeting rooms are envisaged.

As Fujitsu are consulting collectively and individually we will be asking for your thoughts/concerns/suggestions so we can help make any changes work well for all affected- as we have done in previous changes to building layouts and occupation. Your input to the consultation is vital to get to the right outcomes.

Unite expects to work with Fujitsu, PCS, Your Forum reps and the Manchester Health and Safety Committee on the proposed changes.

If you have any initial thoughts – please send them to UnitetheUnion@fujitsu.com for including in the consultation.
